Oh! Well!! Yes, of course, COCAINE! Followed by "violent country" (...) it’s the typical stereotype answer given by people abroad to the average Colombian.
And who can blame them, if it’s everywhere!! on the television, the news, the radio, the movies, the newspapers and magazines; but don’t fool ourselves, we all know, bad news sells better than good news. The media needs to create impact of fear on the people to be remembered as well as the governments. So when you let yourself fall into the media trap you are just taking away the opportunity of every Colombian Person to be recognized as an Individual. I’m not denying part of the reality in Colombia, every country has their own problems, but you cannot label a whole nation based on the actions of a small group of people. I’m sure you’re not going through life calling to every German you meet, Nazi; an American, Stupid; or a French, Dirty!!
So why to be so prejudiced against Colombian People? Easy, because that’s the only crap you usually hear and see from our country. So this is the reason why this blog has been created, to share a different face about Colombia, a gorgeous face, just the one that has been hiden to the world, not only for the foreigners but for the same Colombian people.
